Since 1948 sonsbeek has been at the forefront of connecting art and society. Our ability to do this is thanks to the passionate support of our community, and in particular our network of patrons and donors whose belief in the value of art to question and inspire; to create better futures and enrich not just sectors but society as a whole, propels us forward and enables us to bring artists all from around to exhibit across the city of Arnhem and the region for 100 days.
Intrinsic to the promise of sonsbeek is to always respond to the public and artistic dialogues, to integrate them and be generated from them. As such, sonsbeek now abandons the traditional biennial/triennial/quadrennial model in favour for a more meaningful interaction. And we need your support.
Our ambition is to generate a continuous dialogue between artists and the public, to allow for a more in-depth interaction and investigation into social issues that is less fleeting and more impactful for individuals, families and communities.
With your help the 100-day exhibition becomes much more: it becomes a launch pad for a programme of regular activities extending in a whole cycle until 2024 with events, publications, performances, educational programmes and much more.
With a charitable donation to sonsbeek you will an integral part of this journey, with invitations to private events, opportunities to meet and discuss with the artists, insights into their work and practices and a valued say in how we develop and progress together.
Most importantly, with your donation you guarantee a legacy of art making a positive difference in peoples’ lives for years to come, and we cannot do this without you.
